PURPOSE: A method is provided to bond blank to shank so that a large number of tools have the same properties promptly by applying a heating method for instantaneously heating a sheet type diamond based blank and welding material only without heating of shank and enabling control of a welding atmosphere, and a diamond based cutting tool manufactured by the method are provided. CONSTITUTION: In a manufacturing method of a cutting tool for manufacturing the cutting tool by bonding blank of a diamond based cutting tool with shank, the method for manufacturing the diamond based cutting tool using instantaneous heating and cooling comprises the processes of adjusting degree of vacuum inside a chamber(6) into which a tool sample to be welded, blank and welding metal (welding material) are put to a low vacuum atmosphere of 0.001 to 20 torr using a vacuum atmosphere controller(8); and bonding the blank and welding material with the shank at a temperature of 700 to 1200 deg.C for a short period of maintenance time by instantaneous heating using a rapid temperature increasing heating source having a temperature rise rate of 500 to 1000 deg.C/min, wherein a heat source(5) of the instantaneous heating is light heating type using a halogen lamp, radiant heat of the heat source of the instantaneous heating is directly thrown on the blank of the tool sample to be bonded through a viewing glass window(7) made of transparent quartz, and the blank of the diamond based cutting tool is PCBN (polycrystalline cubic boron nitride) based.
