The apparatus is for adapting the storage medium 5 to play with a drive device made for other types of storage media or a plurality of types of storage media. One of the devices includes a cartridge with an open cover 2 and a door access assembly. In another embodiment of the device, there is provided a direction sensor 4 for checking the direction of the cartridge relative to the drive device. Another device includes a hub receiving body 7, a medium receiving body, a hub fastener, and a medium fastener. Another embodiment of the device includes a connecting body and a fastening body. The media fasteners can secure the storage medium through physical fixation pressures and magnetic forces.
