The multi-carrier code division multiple access scheme has been spotlighted as a next-generation cellular mobile communication technique that provides higher data rates or provides frequency diversity than the single carrier code division multiple access scheme.;When the multicarrier technique is applied to a cellular environment, in order to accurately perform power control, the power of the transmitter needs to be flexibly adjusted according to a situation. Therefore, a transmission amplifier having a large dynamic range is required. In this case, if the accurate power control is not performed, a large power multi-user / cell interfering signal is generated and performance is degraded.;The present invention proposes a method of substituting or supplementing forward power control by using a frequency diversity technique when the multicarrier code division multiple access scheme is applied in a cellular environment. Instead of adjusting the transmit power according to the position (or receive power) of the terminal, it controls the number of multiple carriers of the same transmit power to perform a complicated power control role. This technique may be used instead of power control, or in parallel with power control, or may be used as a method of reducing the dynamic range of a transmission amplifier according to power control.
