OPEN-TYPE BIRDCAGE RADIO FREQUENCY COIL FOR MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING APPARATUS

PURPOSE: An open-type birdcage RF(Radio Frequency) coil for a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus is provided to improve the application by providing an opening unit on a conductive wire of an RF coil arranged on the circumference of a cylinder. CONSTITUTION: N number of conductive wires(9) are attached on the circumference of a cylinder with an equal distance. The cylinder comprises an opening unit having a center angle of Ψ. A capacitor(11) for adjusting an operational frequency is located around the center of the conductive wires(9). The conductive wires(9) are connected to each other by an arc-shaped conductive wire(10). The centers of each of the conductive wires(9) are cut. The cut portions of each of the conductive wires(9) are connected through the capacitor(11).
