PURPOSE: A fatigue strength reinforcing method of a welding part by the shot peening is provided to improve the rigidity of the welding part by eliminating residual tension stress in cooling and generating residual compression stress by continuously shooting particles on the surface of the welding part at high speed after welding. CONSTITUTION: Two planar and linear members(2,3) are combined in a welding part(1) by the shot peening, and an air shot nozzle(4) is installed near the welding part of the members. The welding part is processed and hardened by linearly moving the member on the transfer bar and shooting particles from the air shot nozzle. The welding member is linearly transferred at 1-5 m/sec, and steel balls of 0.1-0.5 mm are shot to the welding part of the welding member by the air shot nozzle with pneumatic pressure of 300-600 kPa. The transfer bar moves the linearly welded member longitudinally to the welding part, and turns the cylindrically welded member circumferentially to the welding part. Residual compression stress is generated with reinforcing the welding part.
