DEVICE FOR ENSURING OF TANK SURVIVABILITY IN THE CONDITIONS OF LIMITED VISIBILITY

SUBSTANCE: one of the most complicated conditions of combat employment of tanks is the combat action in the conditions of limited visibility. In the course of a night combat the tank may be shelled by an artillery system practically from any direction. In the majority of cases tanks and antitank guns will be such systems. Timely and accurate detection, as well as a quick destruction of them, is an important problem is attained by the fact that the tank target designation system is provided with an adder, whose first input is connected to a photodetector via an indicator, the second input is connected to a potentiometer, and the output is connected to the gun training drive via an amplifier. The use of the offered target designation system on modern tanks will essentially enhance their potentiality in timely detection and destruction of antitank artillery systems in the conditions of a night combat.
