FAMILY OF WORKING FLUIDS FOR HEAT PIPES

FIELD: special-destination fluids. SUBSTANCE: heat pipes provided with proposed fluids can be operated without wick and grooves. Such fluids are constituted by a solution with volatile components and less volatile components, which raise surface tension as their concentration in solution increases. Use of these fluids, in particular, suppresses effect of thermocapillary closing of return flow of fluid from condenser to evaporator typical of grooved heat pipes, in which mechanisms of creating return flow (tangential stresses and capillary pressure) are mutually enhanced because of growing capillary pressure with growth of surface tension. EFFECT: suppressed thermocapillary closing effect and allowed simplification of pipe structure.
