The method involves additively superimposing the received PSK signals with the local oscillator (10) oscillations to directly form a mixed product in the baseband and detecting the digital data signal PSK-modulated in the transmitter using a bit clock recovered from the baseband in the receiver (2). Assuming non-rectangular transmitted modulation pulses in the receiver after superimposition of the received signal with local oscillator oscillations at a frequency of the reciprocal of the base rate and multiples thereof, spectral lines present are evaluated to obtain a control parameter for phase regulation of the local oscillator. An Independent claim is also included for an arrangement for implementing the method.
