The method involves assigning a found structure directly to the current potential curve at a corresponding measurement position. A structure surface impression is fixed and the contained sigma phase is analyzed by energy dispersive spectral analysis so that corrosive weak point is determined. A current potential curve is compared with a desired state over reference curves. The surface is prepared by polishing to recognize a charge independent structure development. The current potential of 1-3 volts is applied to the prepared surface.
