The pepper mill has two operating levers (2, 2') mounted on pivots in a casing (1) which contains the pepper. One of these has a catch (22) at its base which cooperates with a notch (313) in a third lever (31). This operates a rack and pinion system (41, 42) which rotates a grooved grinder (5) inside a tubular grinder (6) which is fixed in the casing.
