A hair lotion (I), effective against dandruff and alopecia, contains lactic acid, citric acid, panthenol or dexpanthenol, sodium selenite, potassium iodate, zinc sulfate, silicic acid and ascorbic acid, the remainder being distilled water (optionally mixed with alcohol). A hair lotion (I), effective against dandruff and alopecia comprises: (a) 1.0-10.0 wt.% lactic acid; (b) 0.5-10.0 wt.% citric acid; (c) 0.1-5.0 wt.% panthenol or dexpanthenol; (d) 0.1-5.0 wt.% sodium selenite; (e) 0-2.0 wt.% potassium iodate; (f) 0.1-5.0 wt.% zinc sulfate; (g) 0-5.0 wt.% silicic acid; (h) 0-5.0 wt.% ascorbic acid; and (i) the remainder is distilled water (optionally mixed with alcohol). - ACTIVITY : Antiseborrheic; antialopecia; antipruritic; dermatological; antifungal. - MECHANISM OF ACTION : None given.
