Cement-free implant comprises a base (1) with a section which can be anchored in bone or tissue and a coating produced by vacuum plasma spraying from a powder (2). This is partially fused, so that a pore structure (3) is produced in the coating. An Independent claim is included for a method for producing the implant by vacuum plasma spraying a base with a powder which is partially fused, the degree of fusion determining whether an open or closed pore structure is produced.
