Use of a mixture of waxes comprising a metallocene-catalyzed homo- or co-polymer of 2-18C alpha -olefins or a metallocene-catalyzed long chain polyolefin and one or more aid(s) to improve the properties of lacquers is claimed. Use of a mixture of waxes comprising a metallocene-catalyzed homo- or co-polymer of 2-18C alpha -olefins or a metallocene-catalyzed long chain polyolefin and one or more aid(s) selected from polyethylene (PE), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), polypropylene (PP), amide, montan and natural polar polyolefin waxes, FT paraffins, macro- and micro-crystalline paraffins, sorbitan esters, polyamides, polyolefins, PTFE, wetting agents and silicates to improve the properties of lacquers is claimed.
