Apparatus for storing and mixing a substance (9) comprises a chamber (7) for the substance. The chamber is formed by sealing a base film or lower film (1) and a covering film or upper film (2) in the edge regions of the chamber. The apparatus exposes a planar mixing region after removing the covering or upper film. Independent claims are also included for: (a) a process for mixing a substance comprising opening a chamber by removing a film component from the apparatus, and mixing the substance on the exposed mixing region; and (b) a process for producing the apparatus comprising preparing a base or lower film, and applying an amount of substance to this film, directly sealing a covering or upper film in the edge region of the substance. The base or lower film and the covering or upper film can form components of the chamber.
