The cylinder (01), for a rotary printing press, has a mantle (03) rotating on roller bearings (09,16) on a static carrier (02). At least one roller bearing has a setting unit (17) to adjust the radial gap between the carrier and the cylinder mantle, while the radial gap at the other roller bearing remains unchanged. The roller bearing (16) with the setting unit is at the end (14) of the mantle.
