The peptide VIRIP (human virus-inhibiting peptide) and its biologically active fragments and/or variants and/or derivatives, especially amidated, acetylated, sulfated, poly(ethylene glycol)-modified, phosphorylated and/or glycosylated derivatives, also synthetic peptides with the same biological activity (collectively (I)).
