The method involves moving an object along an optimal path from a starting point to a selected destination by transmitting destination data from an address data memory in a terminal (5) to the navigation device (1). The destination data contain data in the form of an address or destination coordinates and are passed via a wireless interface or stored on a data medium for reading by the navigation device. Independent claims are also included for a navigation device and a terminal for implementing the above method.
