The device has series diodes, one connected to the positive and one to the negative direct voltage rail of an intermediate d.c. circuit with series capacitances or alternative voltage sources, e.g. batteries, whose common junction can be connected to the phase connection by at least one active switch. The diode junction forms the phase connection. An active auxiliary switch is arranged between the phase connection and a d.c. rail. The device has at least two diodes in series (D111-D14,..), whereby one diode is connected to the positive and one to the negative direct voltage rail of an intermediate direct voltage circuit with series capacitances (CDC1,CDC2) or alternative voltage sources, e.g. batteries, whose common junction can be connected to the phase connection by at least one active switch (T11,T12,..), and the diode junction forms the phase connection. An active auxiliary switch (Ta1-Ta3) is arranged between the phase connection and the negative or positive direct voltage rail.
