The exhaust silencer(14) of the model engine-driven road vehicle's exhaust system is located behind the rear axle(2) at the rear end of the vehicle and lying crosswise. The exhaust manifold(10) and silencer are connected by a pipe(13) which in side view runs above the crankcase(7) and rear axle differential(5) and which discharges into the exhaust silencer in the longitudinal center region. In plan view the exhaust pipe runs from the front outwards to the side in the direction of the vehicle's longitudinal center plane.
