The waterproof hollow body (1) of the ear protector fits over and grips round the ear to seal this against water and is adapted to the ear shell in shape to give an inner volume of 350 cm3 or less in elliptical form. The opening of the protector body should be 12-64 cm2 in size and the proector weighs 150 g or less. The protector is re-usable and can be disinfected. If used, two protectors can be joined by a spring clasp (3).
