Under actual environmental conditions at the spot where a relevant photovoltaic module is set up, two current-voltage characteristic curves are measured with different radiation intensities in the same spectrum. This determines two effective characteristic curves, based on which a series internal resistance is determines and at least one characteristic curve determines peak performance.
