In a polyester film (I) consisting of at least one base layer and at least one covering layer, the base layer contains (in addition to a thermoplastic polyester) a cycloolefin copolymer (COC) and the film contains flame retardant(s) and UV stabilizer(s). An Independent claim is included for the preparation of (I), by coextruding the starting materials necessary for the base, covering and optionally intermediate layers using an extruder having a flat die and biaxially orienting, thermo-fixing and optionally further processing the obtained film.
