The device for machining a pot-shaped grinding disk (1) involves a casing-shaped rectifying tool (6), the edge (9) of which engages on the grinding disk and its rotary axis assumes a predetermined angle to that of the grinding disk. The tool is drivable around its rotary axis and is axially movable backwards and forwards along its rotary axis in relation to the grinding disk. For machining the face-side, ring-shaped grinding surface (4) of the grinding disk, the rotary axis of the rectifying tool is aligned parallel to the rotary axis of the grinding disk.
