The water-cooled cylinder head of an internal combustion motor has at least one vertical feed channel (3) in each cooling zone (1). Its inlet side is linked to a distributor bar, and its outlet side transits into a horizontal section (5). The initial free contour in the flow direction is defined by at least one horizontal rib (6) to guide the flow to the outlet at the under side of the rib. An overflow bar (7) is at the outlet where the lower section (1u) of the cooling zone acts with the upper section (1o).
