Well tolerated aqueous insect repellent spray for skin protection, containing polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oil, propylene glycol, denatured ethanol and citronella and geranium essential oils

A spray solution (I) for protection against insects comprises (by weight) (a) 1-2 % polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oil, (b) 10-30% propylene glycol, (c) 30-50% denatured ethanol suitable for cosmetic use, (d) 0.5-2% citronella essential oil, (e) 0.5-2% geranium essential oil, (f) perfume (as required) and (g) water to 100%. An Independent claim is also included for the preparation of (I), comprises: (i) adding (a) to (g) under stirring; (ii) adding (b) and (c); (iii) mixing; (iv) adding (d), (e) and (f); and (v) mixing.
