Reinforced composite material comprises a binder, a reinforcing material and one or more fillers. Both the filler and reinforcement being parts of shredded or entire phloem fiber plants. Independent claims are also included for: (a) a process for producing granular molding material from the composite material in which an extrudate is produced from a molten binder and entire and/or shredded phloem fiber plants and granulated before solidifying; (b) a process for producing a molded product in which the claimed granulate is injection molded; (c) a forming process in which a binder mixed with entire and/or shredded phloem fiber plants is either extruded or laid down as strands in a molten state; and (d) a molded product using the claimed composite material and processes.
