Applying micro- or nanoparticles (2) of a magnetically interacting material, loaded with nucleic acids, proteins, biochemical materials or materials for use in medical diagnosis or diagnostic analysis, to a magnetic carrier (1) which contains recesses (6) for the particles comprises applying an external magnetic field along the surface of the carrier to accelerate the particles into the recesses. An Independent claim is included for a similar method, but in which a magnetic field can be generated in the carrier and this is activated to accelerate the particles into the recesses.
