System in which the patients feet are supported and bound on two footplates (1) that can be controlled in 6 degrees of freedom independently of each other. A support system (3) takes some of the patient's weight and prevents falling. A controlling CPU with a controlling program is used to provide different walking paths or cycles in which the patient feet are guided over the whole cycle.
