Prior to transmission of IP data to the customer, the target address of the customer's connection is combined with a DVB service signalled in the service information (SI) from the digital video broadcast (DVB), and combined with a unique identification number of the reception component of the conditional access (CA) system allocated to the customer. The transmission component of the CA system transmits an enable for the DVB service to the unique number using an entitlement management message (EMM).
