Transmission of data packets in UMTS or GPRS communication system by evaluating difference in two or more transmissions of same data packet

Data packets to be transmitted are provided with respective identification information data, and repeatedly transmitted to ensure error-free further processing at the receiver. The data packets are repeatedly transmitted with the same respective identification information data. At the receiver, the transmitted data of a packet are checked by evaluating the difference (x) of the transmitted data in at least two transmissions of the same data packet. Independent claims are also included for a receiver device and for a radio communication system.
