The dosing device has a filling head with filling members (17, 18) for filling containers (1) as they pass by. In a first cleaning position the filling members project into a socket of a rinsing plate (32) and in a second cleaning position the rinsing plate sealingly contacts a filling head frame (25) which encloses the filling head and its filling members so that an outwardly closed chamber (40) is formed by the outside of the filling head facing the plate, the actual plate itself and the filling head frame. Cleaning nozzles (30) for cleaning the outside of the filling head are provided in this chamber.
