The torch holder for a flame cutting machine has a front section (1) formed by a first support flange (2) and a first pressure flange(4). The first support flange is connected to a clamping sleeve (3), and the first pressure flange bears against the first support flange by a compression spring (5). The first support flange and first pressure flange are rotatably mounted on a common first spigot (19), and between their facing sides are located at least three balls (7) in a circle which lock into recesses (8,9) in the flanges. The rear section (6) of the holder consists of a second support flange (10) connected to the first pressure flange by an arm (11), and a second pressure flange (12) connected to a bracket (13) for attachment to the flame cutting machine, and bears against the second support flange by a second compression spring (15). The second support flange and second pressure flange are rotatably mounted on a common second spigot (20), and between the faces are located at least three balls (16) in a circle which lock into recesses (17,18) in the flanges.
