The suspension or solution added to the spray dryer already contains filter dust residues in the inlet to the atomizing device (3), the residues being obtained by de-dusting a waste gas stream (4) exiting the spray dryer. The filter dust residues are used to prepare a suspension with the addition of process water (13) and optionally additional solid neutralization agents (15), dissolved or suspended neutralization agents (16). Process for purifying waste gas from waste, wood and clarified sludge incineration plants comprises cooling the waste gas in a spray dryer (2) and de-dusting in a de-duster (5) connected to the dryer; atomizing a suspension or solution containing a neutralization agent and completely vaporizing in the spray dryer; removing the solid dust-like residues with the waste gas stream; and depositing in the de-duster.
