The measuring device determines the position of a mirror support (1) relative to a drive housing (7) containing a setting drive for the mirror, using a potentiometric measuring sensor (9) associated with at least one spacing device (3) between the mirror support and the drive housing. The measuring sensor has a carrier supporting an elongate resistance layer, coupled to a conductor layer connected to the centre tap of the measuring sensor and to 2 further conductor layers connected to respective end terminals of the sensor.
