The setting element (4) has a cap (41), an elastic element, a hook and a conversion rod (44), cooperating with one end of a coupling rod (23), which is attached to the inner grinding wheel (21) of the grinding mechanism (2) of the pepper mill (1), at its opposite end. The cap is moved between a depressed position and a raised position, in which it can be rotated for adjusting the grinding coarseness of the pepper mill by adjusting the position of the inner grinding wheel.
