The transmitter has a data input (58) for receiving data of a predefined second type, a data converter (66) connected to the input and designed to convert data of the second type into data of the first type, a data output (62) connected to the converter for outputting data of the first type and an encoder (60,64,68,70) between the data converter and the data output for converting data of the first type into coded data of the same data type. Independent claims are also included for the following: a receiver, a transmitter/receiver arrangement, a transmitter or receiver and a transmitter/receiver component.
