A support (1) comprises a region of light metal or light metal alloy facing the surface to be supported and is provided with a pore structure on one part of its surface. The pore structure is produced by anodic electrolytic treatment and forms an adhesion surface for adhesive for fixing to surface to be supported on the support or for dyes. An Independent claim is also included for the production of a support comprising electrolytically treating the support on at least one part of its surface in an acid-containing solution (22), where the support is connected as anode. Preferred Features: The support is made of aluminum or aluminum alloy. The acid is a mineral or organic acid. The support is an endless strip.
