The seat has two lateral inclination adjustment fittings (1,2) linked to a seat part. The adjustment fittings have rotatable drive areas, which are coupled by a transmission shaft. The transmission shaft has two shaft sections (4a,b) which are joined at their adjacent ends by a coupling (5). The coupling forms a cardanic connection and is shaped as a polygonal tube that has two parts that lie at the polygonal end areas of the two shaft sections. The walls of the coupling are spaced from the walls of the shaft sections. The walls have embossments lying at the wall of one shaft section (4a) and ribs at an end face transverse to the walls and the tube axis, which lie at the end of the wall of the other shaft section (4b).
