The painting and/or sewing handwork book has a number of pages bound at the spine (3) so that, when two pages (1,2) are opened out, at least one pattern (A) is displayed for painting or adornment. The pattern pages can be separated at the inner side of the spine so that the patterns lie next to or under each other, so that the working arm extends into the pattern zone being worked without contact with the page where there is no work being done on the pattern.
