Water meter (1) has a dry operating mechanism arranged in a dry chamber. A meter chamber with inlet and outlet is separated from the dry chamber by a screw head (6) and connected to the pipeline using a connection mounting (11). The screw head (6) has a circular metal insert (7) surrounding an inner plastic outer part (8). The metal insert adjoins the connection mounting. The insert is formed by injection molding into the plastic and has a leg (9) projecting into the plastic. The metal insert is of brass.
