Sealant composition (I) comprises ethylene-propylene (EPM) and/or ethylene-propylene-diene (EPDM) rubber and a peroxide crosslinking initiator includes a compound having at least one polar functional group and at least one unsaturated functional group as an adhesion promoter for phenolic resins. An Independent claim is also included for a gasket comprises a support plate with passages for oil and coolant, where: (a) the plate is coated with phenolic resin; (b) sealing elements made from an acrylate rubber (ACM) sealant are molded onto the oil passages; and (c) sealing elements made from (I) are molded onto the coolant passages.
