A speed sensor (2) and a position sensing resolver (15) are integrated into a non-magnetic rotor (4) that is supported within a stator without a magnetic yoke. The resolver detects the eddy current flow in measurement coils (24-27), due to the excitation of the stator coils (6-9). The detection result is digitized to determine the position and differentiated to determine rotational speed.
