The invention relates to a data carrier printed according to a gravure printing method. Said data carrier comprises a half-tone image represented by irregular linear structures in an engraved manner. Said linear structures are at least partially superimposed by fine structures which are reproduced in a positive and/or a negative representation. The invention also relates to methods for producing and processing the irregular linear structures in the form of digital image data on a computer, according to the individual preconditions of a server. The linear structures are transferred onto a gravure printing plate, the digital image data being used to control an engraving device, or, using other printing methods, said linear structures are at least partially superimposed by fine structures which are reproduced in a positive and/or a negative representation.
