The machine tool comprises structural assemblies which are formed as hollow bodies through welded construction and the hollow cavities (15) of the assemblies are filled completely or in part with a mixture of fluid and granular solids such as sand, e.g. quartz sand. The fluid is biologically degradable and the mixture of granular solids and fluid can be a suspension (7).
