Controlling drive unit revolution rate for starter motor of an IC engine, involves controlling electrical machine applying torque to engine depending on deviation between demand and actual revolution rates in starting phase
The method involves defining a demand revolution rate for an internal combustion engine and detecting an actual revolution rate, whereby at least one output signal is formed to control the engine and an output signal is also formed for controlling an electrical machine applying torque to the engine. During the starting phase for the engine the electrical machine is controlled depending on the deviation between the demand and actual revolution rates. The method involves defining a demand revolution rate for an internal combustion engine and detecting an actual revolution rate, whereby at least one output signal is formed to control the internal combustion engine and an output signal is also formed for controlling an electrical machine applying torque to the internal combustion engine. During the starting phase for the internal combustion engine the electrical machine is controlled depending on the deviation between the demand and actual revolution rates. AN Independent claim is also included for an arrangement for controlling revolution rate of drive unit.
