Control method for Mach-Zehnder modulator in optical communications system uses feedback regulating signal for reduction of time difference between data signal and inverse data signal
The control method has part of the modulated optical transmission signal (MOS) provided by the Mach-Zehnder modulator (DMZM) extracted and converted into an electrical signal, for determining the propagation time difference between the electrical data signal and the inverse data signal supplied to the Mach-Zehnder modulator, with provision of a regulating signal (RS) for a variable delay element (VLE) used for reduction of this time difference.
