Process for regenerating a SCONOx-catalyst (6) for removing NOx from waste gas produced by a gas turbine (1) involves passing regeneration gas containing molecular hydrogen or hydrocarbons through the catalyst, the gas originating from the waste gas of a drive unit having a combustion engine. An Independent claim is also included for a device for carrying out the process comprising a SCONOx-catalyst for removing NOx; a line (8) for the regeneration gas; and a drive unit (7) containing a combustion engine having an exhaust outlet connected to the line. Preferred Features: The waste gas from the drive unit used to prepare the regeneration gas is passed through a steam reforming catalyst (11) to convert the carbon monoxide and steam to carbon dioxide and molecular hydrogen. The drive unit is operated with a fuel, preferably natural gas, gasoline or propane.
