Apparatus for producing a glass tube comprises: a Danner blowpipe (1); and a nozzle for applying a glass stream on the casing surface of the blowpipe. The blowpipe consists of a peripheral wall formed from an outer metal sleeve (2) and a ceramic body; and a tension plate (6.1, 6.2) at both ends of the blowpipe. The plate (6.2) is fixed to the shaft (6) and the plate (6.1) axially moves on the shaft. The feed end of the shaft is fixed to a pressure plate (4) to prevent it moving in the axial direction. A compression spring (7) is connected between the pressure plate and the tension plate (6.1). The tension plate (6.2) grips at the end of the sleeve.
