The outer cone face of the tool holder is formed by a separate cone sleeve (2) which slides axially relative to the shaft and an axially displaceable coupling element (3, 5, 7) between the radially outer sleeve and radially inner shaft can be connected to the tension bolt (6) on the machine side so that during assembly tensile force is directed through the coupling element to the cone sleeve and the shaft so that the cone faces and flat faces of the socket and spindle bear against each other.
