The office or boardroom table can be extended using a self-contained leg and frame unit (7, 12) which is attached to the underside of the existing table (6) using slides (8, 9) which fit into profiled rails and are fastened in place by eccentric locking devices (13). Additional table top panels (15) have a stud (16) underneath which fits through a bore (14) positioned over the leg of the unit.
